Wall Art decals vs Wall stickers - a quick guide

Naughty Cats art decals!

Here is a quick guide on the difference between Artitude art decals vs those colourful wall stickers that you can find elsewhere:

1) Artitude art decals are made of mono-colour vinyls of which the colour is inherent in the material. Hence, the colour is not printed on the vinyl and it will not come off or fade over time. Colourful wall stickers have colours printed on them.

2) Artitude art decals come as long as 1.2m. They can even be joined to form large pieces without trace as the material is very thin. They are therefore great to create a modern and stylish effect for large wall surfaces. Most colourful wall stickers come only in small pieces.

3) Artitude art decals has to be transferred onto a surface, while the colourful stickers can be peeled and stuck directly on a surface. As our art decals are very thin, they have a natural hand painted look when applied on your surface. We therefore do not advise reusing them as they tend to stretch when you peel them off. Colourful stickers usually can be reused, but they usually has a transparent border or black outlines around the designs which can be seen upclose.

4) Our art decals do not peel off on their own. They can therefore be used even on cars and outdoor conditions. Colourful wall stickers tend to have a shorter lifespan and may curl over time.

5) Artitude art decals are made 100% in Singapore for quality control.

We hope the above are useful and you can make more informed decisions when getting wall decor for your spaces depending on your needs!

Lots Gourmet Stop - Transformation Part 2

In the previous post you saw how we added magic to a simple kitchen glass window of the soon-to-be opened cafe Lots Gourmet Stop.

Another part of the cafe was at level 2 that needed to have an added touch of dreaminess, so we customized and design a unique tree to create that effect!

Spanning about 3m wide and high, this takes quite a lot of work and expertise to put up, but we had a lot of fun as Artitude team! : )

We are really happy and glad to have made a difference for the cafe : ) Do drop by and visit it!

Lots Gourmet Stop - A transformation Part 1

Lots Gourmet Stop is a cool cafe that is gonna open soon! We are happy to be engaged by its owner and chef, a sweet lady Jenny, to come up with creative ideas and solutions for this new haven.

You can see how the kitchen window looks before and after our makeover! The kitchen was originally too exposed to guests, and the walls around the window were rather plain. So we added that nice vintage window frame, with a scenery, to decorate and solve the problem at the same time : )

This cozy cafe serving freshly made pastries and beverages will soft open this Friday 16 October.

Location: 965A Upper Changi Road North, Changi Garden.

Transformed Space of Anne!

Another newly transformed space by our Art Decals!

Anne's was really interested in our art decals but she had a bit of a headache on what to have due to the limited available wall spaces at her home in Woodlands Crescent.

Ingeniously, she finally found 2 possible feature spaces - her bedroom door and a little art corner of her room!

She chose our very versatile Shy Dream Grass decal, which we customized into two different colours, Orangy and Hazel, for that added touch of cheerfulness!

We hope our little shy grasses will make Anne smile and cheer her on every day : )

Latest Art Canvas Webpage

I love our new webpage!

It is funny that whilst people commonly prefer big, colourful prints, there is a small group of folks and fans who really love our simple designs - and the little subtle but important messages (to us) that we try to convey.

We are keeping the current series standard sized and mainly in monochrome. But, we'll keep exploring. Meantime, share with us what you think!

Artitude on Air! CAPITAL 95.8FM

Artitude was honoured to be chosen for a live interview at D'Marque at Downtown East on Saturday 19 Sept morning by DJ 王德明!
There were about 150 booths at the event and it was real fun to meet so many people and to provide solutions and ideas for their living spaces.

Many uncles and aunties spoke to us out of curiousity and surprisingly, they were no less receptive to our creative ideas than the younger folks!

In the afternoon, we were also lucky to have 2 other Capital 95.8 DJs 邱胜扬 and 潘家镳 visit our booth and to talk about our works.

Special thanks also to Huimin and Noelle who spent their precious weekend helping us. And to Artitude fans like Ashley and hubby who came all the way from the west to support us!

Original Designs

We realised some folks thought we are distributors of the graphic pieces available on our website!

No No No!! All illustrations and designs are the creations of the Artitude team!

From brainstorming, getting inspired, sketching, throwing away unwanted ideas to translating them into our final products, they are the fruits following much loss of brain cells and late nights... (so please do remember to respect copyright)

Nonetheless, we really get lots of kicks creating our own designs. And we are coming up with more. So keep a look out!

First Interactive Art Decal Website In Southeast Asia!

Hello folks, we hope you have been having fun clicking on our interactive art decal pages!

But as you might not already know, we are probably the FIRST website in Southeast Asia to have this interactive feature! It is something the team took many months to make possible (special heartfelt thanks to our ingenious programmers Kathy Lim and Noelle Tan).

As consumers ourselves, we can understand sometimes it is hard to shop online if we are not sure what we see on the screen is really suitable for our needs. It can indeed be tough for some to visualize the right colours for your spaces! So, now that you can preview how different decal colours would look on your surface colour online before you commit your purchase, we hope you can confidently make better informed decisions!

Wall Decor Solution

Artitude is happy to share that we have helped newly wed couple Kwee Choo and Zhi Cong to transform their new house at Yung Sheng Road!

They had this little problem - there was this abrupt break in wall colours between their dining area and living room and they were not sure how to decorate the blank walls.

Our solution - we customized Into the Woods art decals into 2 colour tones - a darker tone on the beige wall and a lighter tone on the brown wall. The resulting effect not only solved their problem by creating a sense of continuity between the 2 spaces, the design also added much more fun! Definitely an attention grabber when people enter their love nest!

The couple had also kindly sent their feedback to us: "We are very pleased with the design that Artitude recommended. It has definitely added more vitality to our house. Great price, great services! Thank you! We will definitely recommend Artitude to all our friends."
Thank you Kwee Choo and Zhi Cong!

Art Decals on Glass: 5 Application Tips!

Art decals work their magic not only on walls, but also on other smooth surfaces, like metal and glass. You can transform your office door, shop front, window, shower doors almost instantly if you keep in mind some basic tips when installing them:

Tip 1: If it is the first time that you are decorating with an art decal, start with a small piece which is easier to manage.

Tip 2: Make sure your glass surface is clean (pre-wipe with a mild solution of water + a bit of vinegar will be good enough. Reduce the use of chemical cleaners for a greener enviroment!).

Tip 3: After you peel away the white backing of the decal, use our ArtiTool or simply an old phone card to apply the decals slowly from a corner and take note to gradually push out any air bubbles during the process. If you find air bubbles stuck right in the middle of the decal which you cannot push out through the sides, gently use a needle or pen knife to poke a little slit to allow air to escape and then flatten the spot.

Tip 4: As glass is a very smooth surface, art decals will adhere more strongly to it as compared to a wall surface. Hence, try not to peel out the decals and re-apply again as they may stretch and go out of shape due to their thinness.

Tip 5: Checking the other side of the glass surface allows you to spot any remaining air bubbles clearly!

We love our Wildflowers art decals so much, we knew it had to be put it up on the glass door of our cozy office. And indeed, passerbys can't help but take a second look everytime they walk pass!

Check out other cool ideas at our official site http://www.artitude.com.sg/.

Our Office

My originally plain office was brought to life with our Little Artitude Farm art decals! This colour was the first one that we did to test out the effect. And it the design turned out pretty popular since we launched it at the Singapore Zoo!

Whenever i feel stressed out, these little animal frens beside me will cheer me on! Hee hee.

To add enhance our office's little water fountain corner, we used 2 shades (Thunderstorm and Silver Lining) of Shy Dream Grass decals to decorate the walls behind it. And the result is oh so perfect : )

Potato Farmland!

Potato Farmland is a cool and cozy eatery specializing in yummy yummy potato finger food. We were so happy to help transform the place with our Shy Dream Grass art decals! 2 different colours of decals were used to create a more lively and interesting look. We all had so much fun putting up the decals and eating potatos at the same time. Whahaha.

The Artitude team also designed two unique cartoon characters to personify Daniel and Agnes, the two lovely dovey owners!

PS: If you are a potato fan, then must visit Blk 239 Yishun Ring Road #01-1152!

The Artitude Green Party!

Finally! We are up! http://www.artitude.com.sg/

The team had a little (green) celebration party cum chill out session with family and a few frens on the 7 Aug evening... prior to that, lots of late nights (especially for our web developer N) and adding to our high level of stress was our insistence on making the party as eco-friendly as possible. So we were busy sourcing wine glasses, organic tea, biodegradable plates... And we made the decision to do away with the wasteful disposable cutlery! Only good 'O fingers! Lots of headaches but they are all worth it!!

PS: As our site is really new, if you do encounter any problems with it please inform us so that we can improve it! Currently the site works best on Firefox and Safari.

Artitude Original Conservation T-shirts

We were pleasantly surprised that kids and adults simply love our line of conservation T-shirts!

The Elephant, Tiger, Zebra, Giraffe and Polar Bear themed shirts only came in limited pieces for the fair. We wanted to create designs that had a deeper meaning, that could spread our belief that everyone can live a green life for the planet and wildlife and these T-shirts have indeed been a dream come true for us. We are so proud to wear them too!
